2500 crore loss in 2022

According to SDMA, in the year 2022, property worth about Rs 2500 crore was damaged. Property worth Rs 1118.02 crore in the year 2021, Rs 853.61 crore in the year 2020, Rs 1170.56 crore in the year 2019 and Rs 1520.63 crore in the year 2018 was destroyed in the rains.

In the four days between July 8 and 11, this time more property was destroyed in the entire monsoon season than in the previous years.

117 killed, 121 injured, 12 missing

According to the SDMA, 117 people have died since June 24. 121 people were injured and 12 people are still missing across the state. Due to heavy rains, 500 kutcha and pucca houses have been completely damaged across the state.

Similarly, about 4000 houses have been partially damaged. 133 shops, 1000 cowsheds and 935 cattle have also died in the state.

More damage to road, electricity and drinking water schemes

Roads, drinking water schemes and power lines have suffered the most due to heavy rains. In the state, 33 bridges were destroyed due to heavy rains, while more than 1400 roads were closed. Even today, about 700 roads are lying closed for eight days. 90 percent schemes of Jal Shakti Department were destroyed due to heavy rains. Out of these, about 1800 schemes are said to be such, whose pump stations were washed away in the flood waters.

Two central teams will reach Himachal tomorrow

Two central teams are reaching Himachal tomorrow to assess the devastation caused by heavy rains in the state. One team will visit Mandi, Kullu Manali area while the other team will visit the flood affected areas of Shimla, Solan, Kinnaur and Sirmaur and prepare a damage report and submit the report to the Government of India. On this basis, Himachal will get relief amount from the Centre.
