2 Imam Arrested in Assam: Links to Al Qaeda and Bangladesh Terrorist Organizations; 23 Bangladeshi arrested so far in 4 months

On Sunday, the Assam Police arrested two Imams from Goalpara district for their links with terrorist organizations. According to the police, both were linked to terrorist organizations Al Qaeda (AQIS) and Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT).

Goalpara SP VV Rakesh Reddy said that Abdul Subhan (43) and Jalaluddin Sheikh (49) were arrested. Who is accused of recruiting the sleeper cells of terrorist organizations. Objectionable posters, books, phones and SIM cards have been recovered from Abdul Subhan’s house. Literature in Arabic language has been found from the house of Jalaluddin.

According to the police, sleeper cells of terrorists were also busted in Barpeta and Morigaon districts in July. In this 11 Bangladeshis were arrested. After interrogation of one of them, Abbas Ali, both the clerics were arrested.

Assam the epicenter of Islamic fundamentalism
Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma had claimed on 4 August that the state had become a hotbed of Islamic fundamentalism. In the last four months, five jihadi modules linked to terrorist organizations linked to Al Qaeda have been busted in Bangladesh. Around 23 people from Bangladesh have been arrested in Assam in the last four months.

Terrorists were also detained on 30 July
On July 30, the Assam Police had detained 11 suspects belonging to the terrorist organization Al Qaeda (AQIS) and Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT). They were caught from Morigaon, Barpeta, Guwahati and Goalpara districts.

After which the police sealed the building of Jamiul Hooda Madrasa in Sahariyagaon of Morigaon. Which was the hideout of the captured terrorists. Several electronic devices and incriminating documents were seized from the detainees.

Ansarullah Bangla team’s roots spread to many countries
The roots of the terrorist organization Ansarullah Bangla Team are spread in many countries. According to a media report, terrorists reach different states of India through the border of Pakistan and Bangladesh. Many times terrorist organizations have made such efforts, but due to the strictness of the agencies, their intentions do not succeed.
