2 big changes in Gujarat cabinet: Taking revenue department from Trivedi to Sanghvi, Poornesh’s road and building ministry to Panchal

Three months before the assembly elections in Gujarat, two major changes have been made in the Bhupendra Patel government. Taking charge of the revenue department from Rajendra Trivedi, it has been handed over to Harsh Sanghvi, Minister of State for Home. The Road and Building Ministry of Purnesh Modi has been allotted to Jagdish Panchal.

Is the high command angry with Trivedi?
Rajendra Trivedi is considered the senior most minister in the current Bhupendra Patel cabinet. In the swearing-in ceremony, Rajendra Trivedi took oath at number two after Bhupendra Patel. Apart from this, Trivedi used to check the registers by raiding the office of the sub-registrar or revenue offices anywhere in the state. During this, Trivedi kept the media with him. It is being speculated that the high command was unhappy with his style of working.

Due to potholes of the road, the department was snatched from Purnesh Modi
Purnesh Modi of Surat was known for his tough decisions and works in the Ministry of Roads and Buildings. However, the government was heavily criticized for potholes on roads across the state during the recent monsoon. In such a situation, it is believed that due to the bad condition of the roads, this department has been taken away from them.

Promotion of Panchal and Sanghvi
It can also be said that Ahmedabad MLA Jagdish Panchal and Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi have been rewarded for their good work. Harsh Sanghvi has an important ministry like Home but he was a state level minister. Now that he has got an important ministry like revenue, it can be assumed that he got promotion directly to the cabinet. While Jagdish Panchal was the Minister of State with independent charge of Cooperatives and Cottage Industries, who is believed to have been rewarded for his good performance.
