Eyewitness Shiva Shukla going from Sagar to Prayagraj said, I was returning from Sagar district in my car at night. I parked the car at the place of accident. The bus left right next to the car. After a short distance, a loud bang was heard. There was a very loud sound. Soon, screams were heard from inside the bus. I immediately called one of my acquaintances. He himself informed the police about the accident. Police reached the spot after about an hour. Even before the arrival of the police, the people trapped in the bus were being rescued with the help of local people. After the police arrived, the blood-soaked people were pulled out one by one. There was no movement among the people sitting in the driver’s cabin in the bus. It was dark all around, so it is difficult to tell whether the driver was in the bus or fled after the accident.

Most of the damage happened in the front of the bus.
Rewa Collector Manoj Pushp said that the front part of the bus suffered more damage. It entered the trailer due to high speed. Due to this, the passengers sitting in the cabin and front seat of the bus have died. 40 injured passengers have been sent to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital (Rewa). Some were taken to Tyonthar Hospital.

On the other hand, SP Navneet Bhasin said, ‘The front part of the trailer has also been damaged. In such a situation, there is a possibility that the trailer also collided with the vehicle going ahead. The trailer driver must have applied the brakes suddenly, so the bus coming from behind entered it. The driver and cleaner of the trailer have fled from the spot. However, the cause of the accident is not known.

After the information of the local people, the passengers were rescued. The injured were taken to Rewa hospital by ambulance. The condition of some of the injured is said to be serious.
