A 143-year-old cable suspension bridge collapsed in Gujarat’s Morbi on Sunday evening. Due to this, about 400 people fell into the Machu river. More than 100 people died in the accident. More than 50 children and women were among the dead. The bridge was closed for renovation for 6 months, it was opened only on 25 October. It was inaugurated on 20 February 1879 by the Governor of Mumbai, Richard Temple.

Now talk of T20 World Cup….. South Africa beat Team India by 5 wickets. For the first time since 2009, South Africa defeated India in the T20 World Cup. The accident victim bridge in Gujarat’s Morbi was closed for the last 6 months. After the renovation, it was opened to the general public on October 25, a day after Diwali. The bridge had a capacity of around 100 people, but due to Gujarati New Year holidays and Sundays, it was crowded with around 500 people. This became the reason for the accident. The Machhu Dam built on this river was broken on 11 August 1979. More than 2 thousand people died in this accident. The water level of Machhu river is low, as well as the bottom is rocky and high-low.
