Road show passed through these areas
Starting from Naroda, the roadshow to PM reached Thakkarbapanagar, Bapunagar, Nikol, Amraiwadi, Maninagar, Danilimbada, Jamalpur Khadiya, Ellisbridge, Vejalpur, Ghatlodiya, Naranpur and reached Sabarmati constituency. During this, tremendous enthusiasm was seen among the people all over the city. Wherever the PM’s convoy passed, there was a huge crowd on both sides. While showering flowers on the PM, people were raising slogans of ‘Modi…Modi’. At the same time, there was a huge crowd on the balconies and terraces to get a glimpse of the PM. Due to this, the roadshow which was to be completed in the first two hours, took four hours.

PM’s roadshow in Ahmedabad on Friday as well
Even today the PM has three (Kankrej, Patan, Sojitra of Banaskantha) election rallies. This will be followed by another roadshow in Ahmedabad in the evening. Today’s roadshow is to be held from Khanpur to Sarangpura. At the same time, Union Minister Amit Shah will hold roadshows in Bechraji, Vijapur and Gandhinagar and Vadodara.

5.49% less turnout than last election
Voting for the first phase of the Gujarat assembly elections was completed at 5 pm on Thursday. The fate of 788 candidates who contested for 89 seats in 19 districts has been sealed in EVMs. In the first phase, 62.89 percent people voted. This figure was 5.49% less than the 2017 election. Not only this, this time there was the lowest voting in 10 years.

Last time 4% less voting reduced BJP’s 15 seats.
In the last election, BJP had lost 15 seats in this region due to about 4% less voting as compared to 2012. Patidar, OBC and tribal votes are considered crucial in this region. Out of these 89 seats, 32 are Patidar dominated and 16 are tribal dominated seats. More than 70% voting has been done in only two districts Narmada and Tapi. Voting in 9 districts has been between 50% to 60%.

More voting in tribal areas
Look at the overall voting, there is less voting in metros, Patidar areas, but more voting in tribal areas. However, in comparison to 2017, there has not been more voting in a single district. Importantly, the urban area is considered a stronghold of the BJP. But the voting has decreased by 11% in the cities as well. This time the seats of BJP-Congress can also increase or decrease due to the arrival of the third force Aam Aadmi Party. On the other hand, 67.65% votes were cast in Morbi, which came into limelight after the cable bridge accident. There was 73.66% voting in 2017 and 74.9% voting in 2012.
